Policy of granting trade credit, debt collection, concluding factoring or forfaiting agreements guarantee control over company's financial liquidity. Often, receivables management requires the management to make difficult decisions, especially financial ones, but it is necessary in order to escalate the market share of a business unit and acquire new customers. It is a process that requires knowledge, experience and thorough market analysis.?Research problem can be summarized as an attempt to approximate importance of receivables management in organizations. Research method used was a review of literature on the subject and a comparative analysis of procedures in the field of receivables management used in business units and universities. Conducted research indicates the differences that occur in the scope of managing receivables at universities and private sector entities.
